Hi All,

I just read Michael Washington's latest blog entry, and one thing he said made me curious:

The DAL II code is in there ( nice thing about being on the Core I can finally see "all the good stuff") but no date when it will be released because the other hard working members have a bunch of important things to finish and test (remember there are a ton of important fixes that there are working on every single day).

(Emphasis mine)

So I thought all the code was already available?  How would being on the core team allow Washington to see "all the good stuff" that he was not able to see before?

The Core and Project Teams work from a private code repository during development.  Once a Release is determined the code that makes up that release is packaged and released to the public.  This means that sometimes there is code that is "still being worked on" or that is "in development" but not part of the code that makes up that particular release so it is not released as it is still subject to many changes and may cause compatibility issues with future releases.

In this case, I think Michael is saying that a version of his DAL2 proposal is included in some code in the private repository and since he now has access to that he can see that some work is being done on it, but as he said, it is not ready for release yet as other items have a priority currently.
