Hi,

I did not install my dotnetNuke site but I do most of the maintenance work and getting information up.  I have loaded 3 banner ads and made the count 1.  Whenever I visit the page that the module is on, the same ad is showing.  When I hit refresh then it rotates.  My hope was that as I periodically visited the page it would show the different ads.

What could I have done in the setting up of the vendors that makes it not rotate?  Does the ad size have to be one of the standard sizes in order to be used?  ( I think I am using something a little smaller than a square ad).   Also how is cache related to all of this?

Garla,

AFAIK there is no rotating built in, you will need to modify the source code or look for a rotating banner module, e.g. at the Marketplace or Showcovered.

Hi Garla,

digRotate will rotate banners without a page refresh.  Check out the demo of rotating dotnetnuke banners.

Thanks,

Mike

Sebastian, Mike,

Thank you for your posts.  I have reviewed the links and believe this solution will work.

However, I am still a bit confused.  How was the module originally suppose to work?  There is the capability to upload multiple vendors with multiple banners.  So what was it suppose to do? Obviously not rotate real time but change is some fashion correct?

Hi Garla,

Your DNN banners should rotate on page refresh.  Verify that they are all in the same banner group, and search these forums, I think I saw users having problems with DNN 4.8.x and the banners not rotating.

digRotate relies on DNN properly rotating the banner sequence, if that part doesn't work, digRotate won't work.  digRotate lets you rotate the banners without having to refresh the page.

Thanks,

Mike
