Hi - I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the issues I'm having with a new 4.8.2 build.  Here is the scenario

  • Export Portal as usual - with content and it resides as normal in the _default folder and I would be expecting this to be reusable under the site wizard or the create new portal option.
  • Created about 20 child portals yesterday (parent portal setup - the name has a - (hyphen) in it)

We then used the blank dotnetnuke template and removed the pages, but as the day progressed, our main 'portal layout' was defined, so, we thought we'd use the 'site wizard' to update the existing portals with the relevant content and haved tried every different scenario I can think of to get this to work

  • Export with content on child portals
  • Export without content on child portals
  • Turned off caching
  • Export with content on parent portals
  • Import content from exported top level domain - in case it was a child portal issue
  • Merge, replace and ignore, with or without content .

There are no logs whatsoever to indicate any errors - all we get is a blank page, with the skin provided.

>> OK I did one more thing here - -

Upon downloading the template files and reading them- it appears that it's not actually exporting the content even though we're clicking the 'included content' button.

The images appear to be exporting.

In the template folder - I opened in notepad and found that the pages are in fact not being exported - so there is nothing to be imported at all, so in a month of Sundays I'll never get it to work but at least have been able to isolate just where I think it's failing.

Is there anyone who can offer a fix for this - I'm willing to pay - as it's disrupting the work I'm doing in overhauling some sites and getting skins up to date and would really appreciate it being resolved.

Thanks and if I missed a post on this somewhere - sorry about that.

Hi Nina,

I'm finding this to be an issue as well. I normally export a portal with content and use it as a template, but since somewhere in 4.8.1 or 4.8.2 the content no longer goes with it. The 'include content' stuff, which is a zip of the portal folder without a zip extension, used to be exported in a second file but that is no longer present.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Rob
