Whenever I go to do a search on my site, I get the error listed below. It doesn't matter what I'm searching for. I've seen a few posts from a year or so ago, but there was no resolution.

I did truncate the eventlog and sessionlog, but that didn't do anything for me either.

A critical error has occurred.
Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

 

Any thoughts or resolution to this at all?

clear the search tables (see http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/134/Default.aspx) and re-index search catalog.

Besides, check the number of entries in DNN EventLog and Size of SQL Server transaction log, which might affect performance as well.

That did it, thanks!

The re-index took the better part of 30 minutes to run, then I just got a 500 error screen (I assume the script timed out).

I only have about 40 pages on the site just yet as we're moving content from our old web site to the new one. There are about 1,000 pages and climbing. What will happen when I go to re-index when there is that much content?
