Hi

I am trying to rewrite url for my customer's web site. I want to have the urls without tabid or any number. As an example instead of

www.pythonproperies.co.uk/commercial-properties/tabid/89/default.aspx

i like to have:

www.pythonproperies.co.uk/commercial-properties/default.aspx

Could you please let me know how can i create pages without tabid in url or any number...

Also the page that i create its not w3 validate... Is it ok to have these errors?(from seo point of view)

Hope you can help me

Thank you...

For URL rewriting I use URL Master - it does so much more than DNN friendly URLs

It is ok from a SEO view to have a few validation errors.  But not too many :) Also fix any errors in the < head > section if you can - any errors here are more likely to confuse Google etc al.  I use Pageblaster to fix validation errors.

Thanks for the plug JK, I appreciate it.  The Url Master module will enable you to use friendly Urls with a lot of other options as well.

To answer the question regarding validation - do a search on w3c validation and dotnetnuke - several people have posted about it.  A good first step is finding a skin which doesn't contain validation errors.  Then, make sure you have set the doctype correctly in your skin setup files, and finally, as JK posted, a third-party module like Pageblaster can handle the final validation for you, while also making your site run faster.
