I know this is a common issue, but I thought I would post my solution in case it may help someone. I came across a program called smarterping. You can google it to find a download. It was made by SmarterTools, Inc. but is no longer being supported.  Anyway it runs as a service on any windows machine (Vista?). You can add multiple url's to it and set how often you would like it to cycle. I have been using it for a few days and saw a major difference after the first day. Of course you need a machine that is on 24 hours a day.

Anyway, thought I would pass it along.

I've been using Smarter Ping for more than 2 years now and I'm very happy with it. But as Smarter Tools doesn't support this product any more, finding the download may be quite difficult. I think you should also post the URL to download the product.

Thanks for sharing,

Duc
