Hey people,

I have a few questions, regarding my website www.canadabc.nl.

First, the Remember Me checkbox at login site. I am a rookie at this, so it might be very simple, but I don't get it. Every time again, people need to enter login and pass again, even though they checked 'Remember me'. Is there a place in the software to set the amount of time the machine remembers login information? If so, where?

Second, it says that after registration, they will recieve an e-mail with a code. They don't. I just see someone has registered, and I accept (or decline) the registration. Then they can login with their self-chosen login and pass. To let them know, I send everyone an e-mail myself. There must be a better way.

Third. UsersOnline is not working. It always says there's no-one online, even though I know others besides me are. When does that start to work. Anyone?

That's all for now. Again, I am a rookie. It might be that the solutions to the questions I asked are very simple. But also keep that in mind when you answer. Baby-language. Thanks in advance!

ps: the site is in Dutch. I'm from Holland myself. Any reply here on in my inbox elmeau@gmail.com can be in either language. Thanks!

Hi Philip!

Thanks, I got the Users Online working! That's one out of three. I told you I'm a rookie, right?

I guess my DNN version is not 04.08.04, like I said. That's what's on the top of my screen, probably, because that's the latest version. I understand from the posts you referred to, I have to upgrade my 04.07.00 version first? Is that a VERY old one? Then, how does the upgrading thing work? I got the 04.08.04-install-file from the DNN site, but now I have to have DNN upgrade itself. I have upgraded modules before, but I guess this is different. Any advise?

And I got the test e-mail to my Info@canadabc.nl mailbox, but what if I want to have all mails to a Gmail account (either a copy, or the only mail). Is that possible? I read out my Gmail daily, but not the Info-one.
And with that working, the original question remains, how do I send an automatic e-mail to anyone that registers on the site, welcoming him/her? It's not a REAL problem, since I can see on the main page who the latest registered user is, and that's usually once per week, but all users get the message that a temporary password has been sent to the e-mail they filled out, with wich they can log in. That's not true. So either the message must go, or it must work. Do you know what it is?

Or is the whole problem the old version and are these problems history once I ugraded?

Help, please. Very much appreciated :-D

Cheers,

Ivo
