This is excellent. I was looking for a way to accomplish the same thing. Is there any way to change the Display Name that appears in place of the "Register" link to make it more user friendly? Some of my  users don't know that they have to click on their Display Name to access their account profile. Thanks in advance.

You could just create a new page with the user account module on it, can you not?  That way you can link it wherever you want (so your users can't get lost then)

I had the same idea and that's how I'm doing it now. I was just wondering if there was a better way to do it. Thanks, though.
