I have a client who wants me to change the text for 'login' and 'register'. It's buried somewhere other than the skin but I know it can be changed. Anyone know what file controls that?

Hello John

You can edit the text via your portal.

  • Go to your admin menu
  • Select Languages
  • Select Languages Editor
  • Select Local Resources
  • Select Admin
  • Select Security
  • Select App_LocalResources
  • Open Register.ascx (to edit )
  • Open Signin.ascx (to edit)

Click Update

I hope that helps

Lynn

Well, this opens up new vistas for editing things but Register.ascx and Sigin.ascx are not located there. I found AccessDenied, EditGroups, EditRoles, Roles, SecurityRoles, SendPasswords but no Register or Signin. Dug into other directories and found some suspects but no joy.

I'm using 4.8.4 if that makes any difference.

Found it under Skins - User and Login. Always something new! Thanks for acquainting me with a new realm in DNN.

I believe the proper thing to do that will work even after you upgrade Dotnetnuke is to modify the language for the login which you can do through the Admin menu and langugages.
