I need to implement Asp.NET Membership/Role/Profiles in my DontNetNuke install. Actually I need to store this information in a third party database. I assumed, based on the info/docs I found, that DNN implemented standard Asp.NET membership/roles/profiles. I made my own Asp.Net membership driver, changed it in the web.config and this works fine.
However when I want to do this voor de roleprovider, it didn't work. I noticed also that the standard web.config didn't have the section. When I added this, DNN seem to do nothing with it. So roles won't work the Asp.NET way. Either does profiles.
In the out-of-the box installation of DNN (4.8.2) I also noticed the aspnet_* tables in the SQL database. The user and membership tables are filled (due to the integration with Asp.NET membership), but the roles en profiles tables are empty.

The question is: am I assuming correctly that the integration with Asp.NET Membership/role/profiles is only partly, or am I doing something wrong here?

By the way: in the Professional DotNetNuke4 book from Wrox, it is stated that the tag should work. But it doesn't. The book is from 2006 and I think the membership model has changed since then.

Peter.
