I have a number of projects ongoing in Visual Web Developer, one particular one has started giving me the following error "webdev.webserver.exe has stopped working" everytime I try to start it.

It happened all of a sudden, I haven't modified web.config, and all others are starting fine.  I haven't been messing with any of the code, I've simply been starting VWD, hitting Ctrl F5 and then editing my wee sites locally on the development server.

I've uninstalled and re-installed EVERYTHING, including sql.  If I move the folder to a different folder (like maybe to the desktop), the development server will start no problem, but the page won't load.

Any Ideas? I'm so frustrated!

 I've had this problem.

With multiple projects running against a DNN website...

Shut down your VWD.

Open the file  "<MyProjectName>.vbproj.user" in the root directory of your project in a suitable text editor:

In there, you will find a line

<AlwaysStartWebServerOnDebug>True</AlwaysStartWebServerOnDebug>

Change the entry to False

Do this for every project in your application [I had thirty plus...]

Restart VWD and away you go....

.. I think this is what causes the problem -- more than one project trying to use the same port....
