Hello community.I have made a DotNetNuke installation and I noticed that especially in IE7 the site is very very slow (almost freezes for some seconds) when I hover over SolPartMenu to show the child pages of a root page, when i hover over a module called HouseMenu to show the sub-menu items or when i hover over the actions arrow in a module when i am in edit mode etc.Apparently there has something to do with javascript and dynamic menus on Internet Explorer so I ask for your help in solving this somewhat embarassing problem.
Thank you in advance.

I'd suggest to clear the browser cache and retry.

Actually, I met this issue several years since I used DNN. Expecially there are several layer of menu and lots of menu items. This issue would become more serious. (But it work fine in Firefox. Maybe it because Firefox has better performance of javascript.) This is another serious problem in DNN itself I think.

I don't think clear cache can resolve this issue. Change the menu object(maybe some css menu... etc) itself seems the only way to fix this issue now.Or not using menu object and using list object to replace it. You will lose the ability to create multilayer menu if you use list object.

This sounds to me like what happens with cheapie shared accounts on overloaded servers. The way IE only fetches 2 items at a time off the server causes this behaviour when the server is unable to reliably deliver the 50 or more items that DNN pages usually require. Firefox just fetches lilke crazy and so it's not as obvious.

The fix is get a better account at a better host. That's just from my own experience.

Ok and what if I am in charge of the server? Win 2003 and IIS 6.0. Is there any configurations I can make in order for the fetching to be quicker?|
Any good suggestions for replacements for the menus?
