Hi,

I am new to DNN but I have a problem using the original portal alias after trying to create a subdomain on godaddy.

Portal was working fine until I tried to point a subdomain to it on godaddy hosting. Subdomain did not work so I took it off but portal could no longer be reached from original alias used for setting up portal. eg using http://mydomain.com/dotnetnuke/bus no longer works but using http://mydomain.com/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx?alias=mydomain.com/dotnetnuke/bus does work and all content is still there. Creating a new alias gives page not found error. Is there a way to map this portal back to an alias?

the error message is:

Server Error in '/dotnetnuke/bus' Application.

if you are creating a child portal, you need to make sure, that the associated folder is created properly and all portal alias settings.

Child portal worked ok originally and folders look ok to me  (same as as other portals). Is there a table relating portal id to aliases that I could check? Thanks
