I am trying to figure out how the online user module works.  I am trying to use a .net application to read the onlineusers table and the scheduled task is deleting my user entry before my session expires.  Can anyone explain this?

What version of DNN are you using? There are some outstanding bugs/scheduler issues in 4.9.0 so that Users Online does not work anymore - mine is always empty - search for "4.9 issues" or similar... it's the scheduler at fault and it manifests instelf in some strange ways (caching is no longer working either in DNN 4.9). If you are not using 4.9 then I don't know ;)

please notice that the scheduler issue does not occur, if the scheduler is set to request mode in Host Settings.

Hi,

Enable UserOnline schedule (Host->Schedule) then uncheck Disable Users Online (Host->Host Settings->Other Settings).
