I  have a question that was asked. We have a site that likes to do install updates instead of actual update method. They do this because of the each new DNN release has the newest core modules in it. Question that was asked is, Does the install file get updated each time a new core module is made?

This is a general question asked to me but i have a feeling they are waiting for the new FCKEditor provider to be released and hope that the 4.9.0 version will be repackaged with the new version included. This will minimize downtime and as little manual directions as possible.

Thank you,

Dean

Released updates can easily be downloaded and safely installed via UI using (misnamed) command "install new module" in Host :: Module Definitions. Each DotNetNuke Install or Source package usually contains the latest released versions of all modules and providers. Any DotNetNuke package issued is static and does not get changed (usually, except there is a packaging issue detected immediately after).
