Hi,
I see this is a pretty old thread and maybe this issue was fixed and cropped up again after the messaging enhancements, but I am having this same issue on a DNN 5.4.2 install. I added about 125 or so address into the additional emails text box and after the mail was sent, the site displayed nothing but Service Unavailable for about 5 minutes.

Is there any status on this?

Thanks

Bulk Mail in DNN 5.4. is a totally different story, the background service has been rewritten (and I haven't reviewed all details yet).
