I have two sites with corrupt sitemap.aspx files. One is running DNN 4.0.8 and the other 4.0.9. How can I recreate these files in the proper format for Google?

Thank you.

the sitemap.aspx "file" is actually a http handler which automatically generates a sitemap for the portal. What kind of corruption are you talking about?

In the 4.0.8 version someone created a sitemap.aspx file by creating a page in DNN and then listing the pages with links. I tried to replace the file with the standard DNN version, but the old one keeps coming back up. I don't know if the sitemap.aspx.vb file retains the older incorrect version, but so far no success. Do you think upgrading to 4.0.9 would overwrite the sitemap.aspx file and thus correct the problem?

In the 4.0.9 version, it has been corrupt from the beginning. When the site is referred to Google, verified and then the sitemap is added, Google errors. When you surf to the site to pull up sitemap.aspx, the file appears to be correct, but no pages are listed. The total content is shown below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

  <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd" />

Thank you for your help!
