Hi,

I have a situation where a client has an existing application in ASP.NET/MS SQL and we wish to extend the functionality of it. Rather that writing from scatch we are considering DNN as a framework for this extra functionality. Could DNN be used as part of an overall ASP.NET site and what would be the best way of do this?

We also have an issue with data sharing from both sides, but I guess this is fine since ASP.NET can hook into DNN's MS SQL DB and DNN can hook into a non DNN MS SQL instance via a bespoke module?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom,

Sam

You can certanly integrate it but the amount of work you'll have to do really depends on how your asp.net app is built. Perhaps you can go into more detail,

Hector, Thanks for the reply.

It is a pretty comprehensive "organisation" asp.net site with authentication and accessibility built in. Since this would have to to come across into the DNN section then I am wondering whether it would be easier to just build the extra functionality in ASP.NET. The extra functionality is to do with "Membership Admin" for a club. Does a good module exist for this out of interest?

Thanks,

Sam

By the way, the main reason for looking at DNN is to speed up delivery. It is feared that developing in raw ASP.NET would be too costly.
