Hi,

Great to see that DNN 5.0 has been released, however I am also seeing that 4.9.1 is released and both on the same date, so what is the difference between the two versions? I hope both are still running on asp.net 2.0 and not 3.5.

Thanks,

Wasim

Please check out Joe Brinkman's blog for an overview of highlights for each version. In summary: DNN 4.9.1 is stable and mature while DotNetNuke 5.0.0 has new features like Extension architecture and management option for module definitions including admin modules, which will be continued in development. If you plan to start developing modules, DNN 5 will be a promising way to go, if you plan to create a new web site to go live tomorrow or already have a running web site, you might consider to upgrade to 4.9.1 now and upgrade to a more mature DNN 5 later.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
