After clicking on "Edit Text" in the menu the DotNetNuke freezes up completely when using Explorer. If I use Joomla the edit boxes works exactly the same beautiful way in on both Internet Explorer and in Firefox .... this is an urgent matter to be solved in DotNetNuke I think

Did you add any custom Text/HTML Editors to your DNN site? I've seen the Telerik editor slow down sites or even prevent it from loading when you try to edit text/html.

This is the DNN 5.0 skin (min extropy 1.02) and it looks like IE7?

I'm have no idea why this happens but I have not seen and nobody logged this before AFAIK.

But it must be caused by something, is there anything specific on how you installed DNN?

Or is it a default install? Are you using Zonealarm (it seems to cause some issues sometimes)?

Did you try to access the same DNN installation form another machine with IE?

I'm using IE7 v7.0.5730.11, with the default configuration of DNN v5.0.0.  I cannot reproduce the issue. As far as I can tell, you are using DNNv5.0.0 and the module being edited is the HTMLText module.  When I click the 'Edit' command link, the standard editor displays (FckHtmlEditorProvider), and I have no issue editing text.  There may be something in you configuration that's non-standard, so it would help to understand your configuration better.  You can get most of that info directly from the Dashboard, send it to an xml, which outputs to the \Portals\_default\ folder.

I would agree, that this would be a 'serious' issue requiring attention, but others must be able to reproduce it to help isolate the cause.
