Hello,

This may pass as a stupid question but i'm gonna do it anyway. I've been getting this captions on my sight to update to dnn5 but I don't know exactly how to do it and I don't know what happens to the regular and extra modules i bought for dnn4. Do they keep working properly or is there anything i should consider before i update?

Thanx.

Jp,

the DNN core team tried its best to provide backward compatibility for modules, but you should to check with the vendors / developers of the 3rd party modules, if they tested their modules with DNN5 and maybe provide an upgrade. Besides, a number of upgrade issues have been reported and will be fixed in DNN 5.0.1, which shall be available soon - it might be a good idea to wait with your upgrade for it.

It is always a good idea to have a beta or test copy of your website and database to test upgrades.  In the past I had encountered issues that cost me hours of rebuilding work.  Now I have a test site I use for upgrades so I can roll it back if possible.
