I am currently using the DNN 4.09 now. I tried to create a child or a parent portals. Both doesn't really work well. They do not display anything, just "not found" & "Server not Found". I was trying to create from the GUI interface. (The first website) ever display.

Is there anything I need to do? However, I do find the directories (1 & 2 directories) in Portals directory.

Thank You

Slen, when you created these portals, for the parent portals, are you also configuring IIS for the new domain name you've created? You'll have to add the domain name to the website in IIS.

as for child portals, are you creating the child portal with the portal alias of www.mydomain.com/childportal and then trying to access the site? That doesn't work? Is there a new directory created in the root of your DNN site called childportal

Chris.

As for the child portals, I do create the child portals with the alias of localhost:1234/DotnetNuke/childportal and then trying to access the site. the directory of the child portal is created with the default.aspx in the DNN root. However, The child portal doesn't really work. It displayed an error page which is "HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found". When creating the child portal, I did specifically choose the template to DotNetNuke.

Thank You

Do you have problems with any of the Pages in your DNN site? Do you have friendly URLs turned on?

I have problem creating parent portals. It displayed file not found 404. The default page wasn't created like in childportal. I am using vista and I added an application under the default website in IIS. I also have created the folder in the wwwroot. Is there any thing I did wrong or miss doing?

Creating child's portals is work okay for now.

Thank You
