See the link below and look on HP's site for additional information.  The DS 9250c plugs into the network and documents can be scanned to email or a network folder as a PDF file.

1. Scan document(s). (Use PO number as document name)
The PO & related documents can be scanned into a single PDF (50 pages I believe).

You should be able to visualize your process doing it this way.  If not then the wrong product.  But, if so, it is easy to use and documents can be organized into logical folders.  I do not recommend scanning the document into the database, but to store the document info there.  A little investment into a custom module and you have an inexpensive system that controls the documents by PO.

The best part is that the DS9250c can be used to scan anything to PDF and emailed.  There is no better network device that we have found.  The 9300c should be awesome (no idea when it will be released).
