What version are you using?   This issue was reported long ago and I thought it was corrected.

I am using DNN v4.9.0.

The issue started when I upgraded from 4.4.0 to 4.8.2.  I upgraded directly from 4.4.0 to 4.8.2.

There were no errors in the logs but it became apparent almost immediately after the upgrade that we had problems creating child portals - they were timing out.

Do you know what the fix was and in which version it was implemented?

It could be that part of the upgrade failed and wasn't reported on and I could possibly apply the fix manually?

Blue & White hooped blood runs through my veins!
