After a lot of research into DNN hosts a year and a half ago, I signed up with crystaltech.com. I couldn't be happier. I don't recall our sites ever being down. They have 24/7 phone support that is answered by people who really know something, not just support people reading from a help screen. I think their prices are very reasonable for the quality of service. We use their shared ASP.NET 1.1 server for $16.95/month. That plan allows 25 "extra domains" to point to the same IP address. They do backups of all sites every night and those backups are kept for 15 days before they are discarded.

Its taken several hosting companies and months of frustration to find out that Dotnetnuke is great... WHEN the hosting is great.

We orginally went for what looked like cheap and boy did we find out just how expensive that was. We had very poor up-time, no response or incorrect information instead of support , and difficulty doing the basics due to incorrect host server configiration (security on some modules) ...and then there was the hours and hour we spent fire fighting a bad platform. In the end we couldn't even backup the work we had done.

I'm not raving for over-hyped effect - ...it really was costly. - business launch was delayed, money was lost...

The guys at PowerDNN transformed our DNN experience. After a series of over-hyped providers, groaning disappointments and months down the drain - PowerDNN provided a very solid and easy platform we love.

We get quick knowledgeable solutions and a trusted hosting partner from PowerDNN. Genratec.com is now a fast, responsive, solid website that our customers rave about. The guys at PowerDNN have put time back in our pocket and that’s priceless.

I can't stress enough how important a good hosting partner is if you're anything beyond a hobbist with DNN. Business or project critical info or processes need a good home. The relationship between DNN and the hosting provider is a 50/50 relationship and if you don't get the hosting right you can't really expect to expereince the best from your DNN install. The house is only as good as the foundations!

I know for business there is a temptation to go for cheap, and price is important - but you you value your business you should understand the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

Alan - Genratec . com

PS: this is a non-paid, non-solicted, thanks guys, merit deserved rave :)

Genratec.com is now pretty dead looking.

Edit: Oh hang on... I see.. You probably need to add genratec.com as an alias in your site settings. Only www.genratec.com seems to load.
