Hi

      i want to create child portal with different skins . Can some one help with this please .I have been trying and I am not successful in keeping the skins different.

I have a video on my site that is an introduction on skinning and covers these elements.

Basically- If you upload skins under the host/skins  or host/setttings area, it means that it's globally visible. Meaning everyone who has a portal on there can see it. Have a look at the _default folder - it shows the dnn-blue/red/yellow etc skins in the folder.

However, if you are logged into your portal, as host or admin(with skin upload permissions) and you use the admin/skins  or admin/settings you can only see the skins assigned to your portal.  And no one else can see them in the other portals.

That's just a very quick overview but that's how it works.
