I did read somewhere that when doing Email sending and communication the dotnetnuke portal drops(looses) emails if the process is starting just before an app pool recycling? I am about to build something very critical that must depend on the email being send ..... in my case there is just a few emails being send everytime and not hundreds at the same time .... so I think I will send every email on e at the time and logg inbetween that every email has been send .... if I do that am I safe from the app  Pool problem?

Johan,

if your application is critical on emails being sent out, you should maintain your own queue, listing all mails to be sent and logging, when there is a result from the mail server. I'd also suggest to turn on logging of the mail server to be able to solve issues if occurring.

Besides I suggest to optimize app pool reycle - this shouldn't be done on idle times, only in specific time per day (like 3AM) or when running out of server resources.
