I'm the author of the site http://www.morninggloryus.com, and tho the design is lacking, I can attest to the fact that Alicommerce 2.1.03 is working out very well.  This is my second implementation of the alicommerce solution, and I have done research into other solutions and found that it was not only easier and "cheaper" (cost and also my own time) to implement, Frank and his team are working feverishly to develop it further, and have the cycles to listen to customer feedback and build them into fixes.

I've paid for the full package because my inventory is greater than 1000 products, but out of the box, some of the issues that I had with my prior home-grown implementation about inventory management, credit card processing, searching, and dynamic categorization were addressed.  Also, my site never fully utilized the idea that having marketing campaigns, i.e. discounting products based on type, on manufacturer, and even on type, and we all know that the revenue lost to discounted pricing is easily made up in the additional orders, added customer base, etc.

In the latest release, Alicommerce addressed issues around order management for me, and also provided for more secure transactions forcing the SSL.  One thing to note--one of my biggest determining factors was that when my CC processing company warned me about changing PCI compliance laws, Frank was already aware of them and armed me with what I needed to know to go back to them.  In this latest release, he's made changes that help my site comply with the latest changes to the laws.

Is there more room to grow? Definitely.  I have probably 1 to 2 new enhancement requests per month.  But the team answers them all, and if the request is valid, offers alternatives until they can code the change, and then usually implements them in the next release (granted, my ideas are usually pretty darn good. :) )

I'm going to stick with these guys for the long haul.  Until I need an enterprise solution because I'm netting millions in sales, I'm going to continue to iterate on Alicommerce's good product.

By the way Johan, I'm willing to listen to suggestions about design--i've seriously spent no time the design side of my site--as this is something I do from 10pm to 1am only... ;)

aha ... so you guys are not supporting the community edition?

Where did you get that idea? I never said that. Quite opposite, we are going to add a lot of new features to AliCommerce 2.1 Community Edition.

Many thanks for the compliments. Just curious. How many products are there in your store?

I would like to chime in here and say that AliCommerce has been a GREAT product for me on the DNN platform. Frank I wish you the best of luck with 2.1 and look forward to using it in the future.
