Last night we released DotNetNuke 4.9.4 PE to our Professional Edition customers and released the 4.9.4 Community Edition version early this morning.  Because of the number of sites that must be updated, blog posts created, permissions configured and emails sent, we ended up with a several hours delay between the two releases.

While our original intention was to release the 4.9.4 Professional Edition a few weeks after the Community Edition.  We have since realized that this doesn't work from a practical perspective.  All users, whether Professional Edition customers, or Community Edition users, have a desire to download the current version as soon as possible.  When security issues are involved, this is even more critical as having delayed releases poses a security risk.

As a result, our plan moving forward is to release both versions simultaneously or as near to it as we can get.
