Hi, My online portal website is hosted in a shared server.

I just want to know, how to take back up of database from shared server to local machine either in .mdf and .ldf file format or in .bak file format.

Awaiting your suggestion asap.

Thanks,

Swaminathan,

Web Application Engineer,

Database transfer needs to be done on file level, using FTP, RDP or hosting panel tools

if you can create a backup of the database and specify the location you are lucky, otherwise you will need the support of your hosting provider, I assume.

If you can install modules on your own, take the free backup-module from http://www.evotiva.com/.

Here you can start a backup and then download the zipped files via file manager from within your portal.
