Hi Guys

I used to use DNN version 3.x as Developer two years ago. And I have found this product really amazing.

Than I have not use it for couple of years. And now I want to update my knowledge and start to use it again.

Therefore I have few questions. Mainly I want to know what changes have been done?

Briefly what are the differences between 3.x, 4.x and 5.0 versions ????

What is the difference between Community Edition and Professional Edition?

What does it mean Professional Edition for mission-critical applications (Is DNN still open source)?

Cheers

DNN 4 was DNN 3 port to ASP.Net 2.0, DNN 5 "unleashes" admin modules like ordinal modules, but is still not released for production yet. For details, please refer to the Release Schedule.

Community Edition is the free open source package of DotNetNuke, while PE adds support and (in the future) superceeding (closed source) modules and providers to target business use cases like web farm support and management aid for large sites out of the box.

Cheers from Germany,
