Hi All,

I recently installed Dotnetnuke 4.9 through GoDaddy. GoDaddy has an area under host connections where you can install website add-ons, and this is how I installed Dotnetnuke. In order to get to my dotnetnuke login, I browse to http://mydomainname.com/dnn. dnn refers to a folder on my ftp site where dotnetnuke files were installed.

I am really confused because I keep reading articles about dotnetnuke and how to make my website live. Everything I read is telling me to install dotnetnuke on my c: drive so that it can be loaded with Visual Studio 2008 or equivalent. Do I need to do this as well?

I have done some work on editing my website through http://mydomainname.com/dnn, but I'm confused as to how I can make my website live so when you type in http://www.mydomainame.com it works....any help would GREATLY be appreciated.

If you are not allowed to place an ASP.Net application in the root of your site by GoDaddy, you need to use a default document (index.htm or default.aspx) forwarding to /dnn/default.aspx - like the default.aspx in a child portal does.

There are huge discussions in these forums about Godaddy, perform a Google/Bing Search using "Godaddy Hosting Site:www.dotnetnuke.com"
