Ok, so in order to post in the forums again, I just had to create a new user account.

Has anyone ever seen that before?  This makes me think something is/was wrong w/my previous account.  I'd prefer to keep using the old account, but hey, if I can't post with IT, then I'll post with this one!

thats possibly related to the fact that you might have set tracking on specific forum threads. AFAIK that is not working. If you want to track, you need to subscribe to a complete forum...

The good news is that the new version of the forums module is already in an advanced stage in the releastracker, i have good hopes it will be installed on this site in the next couple of weeks.

also, i have unmoderated this useraccounf for you...

Yes, it was first seen almost 2 years ago. I also have a dummy account I use to post with. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

there was a thread on this not long ago - the outcome was that it was apparently fixed as I could again start a new thread - then about a week or so back the problem again started. I was installing V5 beta and had intended to pass some comments on problems to the v5 forum but as I can't now start a thread I given up on the beta testing.

If the corp wants feed back on beta testing etc then I suggest that they fix the forum problem fast. - if it is not possible for members of the community to post feedback because of bugs in the forum module then any good software consultant would suggest that a bit of manpower be put into the current problems before going off and developing new versions.

The next version of Forums module is currently in the Release Tracker and Matthias is at this moment actively testing it.
