hello
Installed 5.1.1 on my test box and the current issue I face is that when logged in as host or admin under the "edit" page view mode, all modules are missing the drop down menu that allows you to edit their content/ settings. There is an error flag on the browser that states "Object doesn't support this property or method". If I go to the line it references, and that doesn't reveal much (wrong line each time). I tried creating a new page with dnn's default blue page and container skins with only a core html module on the page and the error still persists. Tried in IE 7 and Firefox. Also I've found that when I hover/ click on the html module's title or content it doesn't allow me to edit them on the spot. So it seems like there's some issue surrounding page elements that "pop up" like the menu and edit button for the subject. Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Hi
I feel that due to the lack of response, I am not furnishing some information that may be needed for others to help diagnose this issue. Could you direct me as to what information I should locate and post here to further this diagnosis along? It seems to affect all the admin features that interact on the fly (described in previous post). The skins are the same as was used in previous site versions though. The upgrade process from 4.8.3 to 5.1.1 showed all steps sucessful. I looked up all the version logs for 4.8.3 through 5.1.1 and they were all empty. Should I be looking somewhere else to further troubleshoot?
Thanks
Mike

In the upper left of the Control Panel, is the "Mode: " radio button list set to "Edit" or "Layout"?    If it is set to "View" then the module action menus will not appear.

Hi Mike,

I've not had exactly the same problme your describing, but when I was testing an upgrade to DNN5 I found a clash in some javascript files, these were being cached by the browsers (IE and FF) and causing allsorts of issues.

You've probably already done this, but as a first step make sure you clear ALL  your cache on the browsers.

Dave.

I feel so stupid right now. I did a few force refreshes but never did a full cache clearing. Once I deleted the cache entirely the site opperated normally  Thanks for pointing out a step you may have thought obvious, but that I had missed none the less.

Cheers!
Mike
