Hey Guys,

I've been working on jQuery.sheet v0.5 (which will be out soon), which is an excel plugin for jQuery (check v0.41 out here: http://jqueryplugins.weebly.com/jquerysheet.html).  I've done a bit of dnn module development and thought that since there isn't a spreadsheet type module out for dnn that I know of it might be a great plugin for the dnn.  Anyway,  I was curios if there was anyone interested in such a plugin.

Check out the plugin and let me know what you think.

I have been looking at jquery.sheet for some time.

I have also mentioned it to a couple of developers with regards to making a DNN module out of it.  So yes, I think it could be a great addition to DNN.  Couple of questions:

When you say Excel plugin do you mean it get's it's data from an excel file you upload to your root folder?  Could it be made to use data in any table within the database?  If so then you could use it in conjuction with many of the forms / web app frameworks for DNN like XmodPro, OWS, etc.  That would be very useful.

From a quick look at the demo I'd say this is something that is definitely needed and will be used. I vote for it.

Hi Robert

I'm very interested in what you're doing and it looks great.  I work a lot with Excel, but also online with some jquery and dnn so am already thinking about "merging" the two in my work.

Will keep an eye on this!

David

FYI Guys,

jQuery.sheet v0.5 has been RELEASED! - http://jqueryplugins.weebly.com/jquerysheet.html

Give me feedback if you get a chance.

I might have spoken too quickly about it being an "Excel" plugin.  It's really just a html/javascript/table spreadsheet style plugin with Excel style functions.  It would, however, be pretty easy to build a class that migrates the excel data to jQuery.sheet.

Is anyone interested in funding such a project?  I do some development on the side :).  Give me a hollar - http://jqueryplugins.weebly.com/index.html

Thanks Guys!!!
