Would it be possible (or is it already possible) to have a Token in the HTML control that could restrict content from being shown except to certain roles?  I'm thinking a token so it can be inline with other text.  For example, everyone could read this paragraph. [DNN_RestrictVisibility role="admins, management"]This sentence would only show up for users in the admins group or the management group[/DNN_RestrictVisibility]

Something along those lines could really be useful, don't you think?  Does something like that already exist - to control visibility based on role membership _within_a_module_?

Not with the stock HTML module, but several have built that sort of feature into theior own version of the HTM:L mod. Iowa Compouter Guru's for one, maybe?

I looked on the Iowa Computer Guru's site and couldn't find a module that did what I'm looking for.  Was there a specific one you had in mind?  He has an HTML Deny module, but I'm not trying to show/hide an entire module, I want to optionally exclude portions of content within the same module from different groups.

Core TokenReplace doesn't provide conditional statements - it hardly fits into the token approach - and unfortunately I am not aware of any module, providing enhanded text features. Closest might be Ventrian Subscription Status, which allows to specify text per role and a default text.
