Hello,

Rather newbie like question here:  What is the order of operations for compiling the DNN source code in VS2008.

I downloaded the source code got IIS 7 up and running with the IIS 6 functionality etc enabled.  Running VS2008 in admin mode (All this per the error boxes I originally got.)   Everything seems to be hunkydory.

I right click solution in solution explorer and select Rebuild solution.  The output window says I successfully built 19 projects.  Everything still looks good.

Right click the website and click build just for grins (thinking it should have been built under the solution) and get like 22 errors.

For example, the first error I see is Name 'ProcessModuleLoadException' is not declared (File DropDownActions.asx)

Error Correction suggestions are things like change it to ProcessModuleCollection and a couple others.

and of course F5 and CTL-F5 results in an error page.

What am I doing wrong?

  1. Did you copy release.config to web.config?
  2. There is no need to compile the web project. Just open it in your browser :-)
