A quick note: FCKEditor has been renamed CKEditor in their latest 3.0 version which came out

I don't use this editor with DNN as I use Telerik's. I wanted to know if CKEditor 3.0 is being used in DNN 5.1.2 and if not, what are the plans for CKEditor 3.0?

Actually FCK Editor is still FCK Editor - latest version has been recently released (More recent than CKEditor)..... there is a parallel code base:

I don't think there are any plans to use CKEditor for the moment - but give it 3 or 4 months and the situation could easily change in any direction.

There is already the first beta of a community provider for CKEditor 3 available on codeplex, but it still misses significant integration support (file Manager etc)

The Dotnetnuke EditorProvider team is currently working on a new version of the provider for latest FCKEditor 2 version, before concentrating on the move to CKEditor 3. I expect, there are needs to enhance the core provider interface as well, which may take some time, i.e. I agree about Alex's schedule estimation.
