Hi All,

I must be missing something obvious - my question is what module do you suppose is used for the News section on the left side of this DNN-driven site - http://www.sji.ie ?

Is that a specific commercial(?) "News" module or just  HTML module?

Thank you.

According to the source code of the page, the site is using core Announcements module for this purpose.

If you need additional features, I suggest to look at NewsArticles module from www.ventrian.com

Thank you, Sebastian.

Does the module from http://www.ventrian.com/ allow to collapse individual entries of the list of announcements into one line each with announcement title, which can be clicked to immediately "Read more"? IOW does this module from Ventrian or some other DNN modules development companies allow to collapse announcements' entries into a view like the one provided by Links module? (But with individually expandable "links" to read through a short description/click "Read More")

Thank you.

Ventrian modules are templatable, i.e. it should be possible by using CSS and maybe JQuery to implement nearly every design. but maybe you should pose your detailed questions on the module intot the forums at www.ventrian.com. Besides, there are other advanced modules like MagicNews from Portalfabrik, which shall be available soon with a bunch of new features, as I got to know form the developers.

Thank you, Sebastian.

BTW, what about DNN's standard "News Feed (RSS)" module having "random mush-up" feature out-of-the box? I mean if I have defined several RSS feeds for "News Feed (RSS)" module instance then I wanted to have these feeds items to be displayed in random order or, say, in order sorted by item publication time. Yes, I should be probably able to do that "random mush-up" by custom XSL - just wondering if such a feature planned to be implemented in the new DNN versions...
