Hi All,

I'm using DNN5.1.1 Community Edition and I have got a quirky behaviour of my DNN-driven site: when I set to a user an Administrators role or my custom StakeHolders role then this logged-in user gets the subject message

Access Denied: Either you are not currently logged in, or you do not have access to this content.

for one (and only one of the pages) - and it's "funny enough" this is a home page of my site.

When this user has only 'Registered Users' and 'Subscribers' roles then this user can view Home page. Home page is also viewed OK by unauthenticated users.

I 'm probably missing something but I must note I tried to find out where it could have been doing something wrong with this page view permissions - they are currently all set to allowed to view ("green checkbox") for all roles - still the same subject issue appears.

My Homepage currently has three modules: two HTML ones and Dashboard.

Do you have any suggestions where I could have been doing something wrong?

Thank you.

Hi All,

I have found what caused the subject message: that was a Dashboard module added to the Homepage. With removed Dashboard module Homepage is now viewed  OK. As soon as I add Dashboard module back to the Homepage then viewing attempt gets subject message for logged-in custom user having Administrators role assigned. Still unauthenticated users can view Homepage OK in all cases.

Bug/feature? Some sequence of actions I have done here, which caused my DNN-driven website/database to behave that "quirky" way?

No, I do not need Dashboard on my Homepage for production environment - I have just been doing some experimenting here...

Happy I have got one "quirk" worked around here...

Thank you.

I assume, this is a security feature to prevent access to dashboard module which contains sensitive information - usually designed for Host users only.

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you for your reply.

Well, why not just make Dashboard module invisible while generating page content on server side not to block access to the whole page as it happened in my case? Or maybe generate more user-friendly message?

Anyway, it's not a critical issue - and it has a clear workaround.

Thank you.
