I am new to DNN so I apologize if this question is in the wrong forum.  I am wanting a CMS system that allows users to go into an admin portal and create their own FAQs, news articles, etc.  However I want to be able to choose how I display the content within my own ASP.NET pages.  In other words, I don't want an entire DNN "website" but rather would like to "drop in" CMS contents in various ASP.NET Content Panes, DIV tags, etc.  To make this clearer, let me give a simple example...

Imagine a home page that has a small DIV tag at the bottom with the contents of a news article.  I want to simply pull the first news article, display the first "x" characters and have a link that says "...more".  Once the user clicks that link they are taken to a news.aspx page that lists all of the news articles and can click on an article for more information.  I don't expect this to be automated by any means, rather I expect to have to use DNN API components to pull this content in the ASP.NET code-behind.

So my question is this... is DNN a good tool for this?  Or is DNN really made more for "an entire website in a box"?

Announcements module or much advanced NewsArticle by www.ventrian.com should fit into your needs.

Take a look at Novus - It's a news article / blog module that gives you complete control over how the information is displayed.

There is a FREE version of Novus available for download from www.OnyakTech.com

Professional DNN Extensions, custom solutions and mobile apps since 2003.

I'm a big fan of Ventrian's as well, but having recently looked at Novus (Convinced the boss to buy an Enterprise OnyakTech subscription...), I'm considering moving some of our Ventiran's to Novus.  There are also other options available, look them over.  Everything depends on your specific needs.

Jeff

I tried the free version and in combiniation with "News Feed" module it works great, but the novus module itself do not show news list, I can only display news by feed,
