I was asked by a close friend who wants to start a photography business what I would use to host a photography business website.   I had to consider what options were available and what is important to me.  After some time I replied recommending DNN, and included all the benefits that DNN has had for me and what it offers for a startup.  I included references, and examples.  I provided hosting options and comparisons.

After I clicked send I reflected about what I had just done because this person I am recomending DNN to has no experience hosting a website.  Sure I could offer my services and would gladly do so but am I asking for trouble?   They want this to be their website, they want to manage it, have creative input, and I want this to be a simple solution for my friend with out alot of overhead.   Looking at the big picture I think a DNN website could meet every expectation they have.  I just hope I haven't opened a can of worms.  What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't worry, as long as you or a hosting provider set up the web site and maintains the installation.

I have a number of inexperienced customers, for whom we set up their own installation but did provide them with admin account only. This works pretty well for them.

If it is mostly an information site, then they should be OK.  If you are talking about ecommerce then it might get a little more complicated for them:)  Though there are a few DNN store / ecommerce modules available,  it is one area that DNN trails in.
