Hello,

I understand that you can setup roles that require a membership fee that registered users can "subscribe" to.

What I don't understand is how the site knows the payment went through to PayPal.  Does paypal return a "payment authorized" or "payment posted" type of message to the site to confirm that payment went through?

PayPal has an "IPN" function, which stands for Instant Payment Notification.  THis is a call from PayPal to the site that confirms the payment.

m,

Take a look at the Subscription Tools from Ventrian  at http://www.ventrian.com/Products/Modules/SubscriptionTools.aspx  Well worth the price of the subscription...  will save you loads of time testing with Paypal.

Hopes this helps.

Paul
