It was announced at Openforce that Telerik would be included in DNN 5.2.

5.2 has been released but I haven't seen any details about exactly what Telerik stuff has been included.  Or did I miss the details announcement?  I'm wondering if the RAD editor is included now?

Telerik.dll has been packaged with DNN 5.2.0 to be used by 3rd party extensions, there are announcements for future versions to wrap some of the controls in the core and use it for administration UI and core modules.

If one has purchased a developer licence for Telerik controls so that they can be used  in dnn modules
on a site then one can use the latest Telerik dll.

I'm wondering what the licencing agreement is for the Telerik dll included with dnn, how the dll differs from the
latest commercial Telerik dll and what is allowed if one doesn't have a developer licence from Telerik?

Thanks in advance

Mike

If you do a new install of DNN you find a link to the ageement for Telerik if you just do a upgrade you are not aware that you have the agreement its located in the Documents folder.

If I read that agreement right I am just able to change the skinobject that is part of a DNN installation.

You may only configure the TELERIK Software by using the wrapping codes (i.e., ―skin objects‖ and ―providers‖) that are provided as part of the DNN Software with which the TELERIK Software was distributed to you. You may not configure the TELERIK Software in any other manner.

I asume this part of the agreement is valid if you have a own Telerik developer licence too. I dont think this is the intention of the implementation of Telrik in DNN.

Some clarification needs to be done from the DNN Corp regarding this.

If you must first own the Telerik controls suite what is the purpose of including it in the core?  What was the purpose of the big "Telerik is now included in 5.2" announcement at Openforce?

Some details would be greatly appreciated.  I was hoping this announcement was going to solve the problem of the $800 rich text editor.
