I've been with godaddy for less than a week and I am tired of them.  You cannot view the dnn files without some kind of workaround that I saw in a forum, I keep getting errors that happen sometimes, and in the dnn file manager sometimes it shows skin, container, etc files but sometimes it doesn't.  What would be my best bet for a host that knows dnn, installs it, and it will just work like its supposed to?  Thanks for any input.

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris,
There are a lot of hosts out there that offer DNN, however, I only know of one DNN specific host  and that is my  employer (PowerDNN).  If anyone  knows of any others that are DNN specific, I'd be interested in learning about some of our competition.

I will say though, at PowerDNN,  we are a little more expensive than a number of the other stock hosting companies and that's because we really focus on having a good, solid reliable framework.  Our servers are optimized for performance, not profit.

If you take a look at our web site, I'm sure you'll really enjoy reading over our server specs (servers with 12ghz with 4gig of ram and a quad gigabit pipes are soooo FAST!).

Also, because we're DNN specific, we do things that you'd expect like installs for free.  Also, if you ever have a DNN issue, we're able to give you a lot more help as opposed to things like "The answers are in the forums" that you'll hear from other hosts.

Chris,

Take a look at websecurestores.com.  I also gave up on Godaddy and could not be happier.  I have myself and 3 clients at websecurestores now.  They will setup DNN for you for or even better, they have options in the control panel that let you install DNN 3.1, 3.22 or 4.02 yourself with just a click and it works flawlessly!   Any support questions get answered quickly and the last two clients I signed up, it was even cheaper than Godaddy!

I spoke with the folks at PowerDNN the other day, and I was quite impressed.

My company is currently using WebHost4Life, and all I can is this: we get what we pay for.  They host a ton of adult content on very overcrowded servers.  The adult content really screws us on the mailserver side of the ball.  The mail servers are *constantly* being blacklisted.  Last week, we had an issue where we couldn't send mail from one of our customers' mail servers to our own mailserver (both hosted on WH4L) because the Class C was blocked on SpamCop-- which they use.

I would avoid WH4L like the plague, unless cost is an absolute issue.
