To the webmaster of the DNN Site
I am about to embark on a open source project which will be using DNN as its base. Basically this project will be a whole bunch of modules which will run on DNN.
In an effort to promote this project I am putting together a website and have just read the "DotNetNuke Trademark Policy" document which suggests the following:
"You may use the HTML and CSS files on http://www.dotnetnuke.com or other official PMI websites for your own web site − as long as you don't use the visual design or style (the colors, gradients, fonts, etc.). In other words, you can use the HTML and/or CSS code, but it should not look like you took our page and dropped in your logo.
We do not intend to exercise any copyright we may have in any HTML/CSS underlying the site’s pages to prevent you from copying or reusing that HTML/CSS. However, this does not grant you any right to use the trademarks, trade names, service marks, or trade dress of ours."
Does this mean that it is ok for me to use the structure i.e. the navigation menu structure (the sitemap) and some of the DNN website content. DNN's website is very user friendly, informative and very easy to navigate and perfect for users to gain the right information about DNN an opensource webapplication framework.
I would like to use the same navigation menu structure and some content on a few pages which describes the DNN open source project, copyrights and licensing etc etc.
Will this is okay or is my interpretation of the above couple of paragraphs misguided.
Kind Regards
