Hi all. I'm brand new to DNN (8 hours total) and attempting to create a custom website and blog for a client. Rather than follow the documentation which details creating skins from scratch (which seems like it would take a while to get my head around), I simply copied a "DNN Gray" skin and started editing it. I am always careful NOT to remove anything that looks like crucial code, and I always comment stuff out, rather than delete it...

Anyway - the installation has produced serious javascript errors since I began working with it. In particular, line 922, the same line as the closing tag of the HTML.

dnn.controls.initTree(dnn.dom.getById('dnn_dnnTreeView_ctldnnTreeView'));

is causing a problem. It always resolves to line 7 of the code, which is:

"oCtl has no properties" and the code is:

dnn.controls.controls[oCtl.id] = new dnn.controls.DNNTree(oCtl);

Now, I simply do not have a single clue what this error relates to, why it is happening or anything else for that matter. The error occurs on all pages, regardless of whether it's skinned or not, and it occurs on pages which I have done nothing at all to.

Any idea what this is, why it's happening, and how to cure it?
