'System' modules , such as Manage profile, seem to default  to the Content Pane. As these modules do not have a move option  is there a way to move them  to another pane?
Or maybe set  the default pane to something other than the content pane.

Thanks
Tony

If you want to change the position of items that are automatically added, such as "Login" or "Manage profile", create custom pages for each and then add the modules to the pages.

You can then set the Site Settings to point to the custom pages.  This way you get control over layout.

Tony,

It might be easier to hit this from another angle and create a new skin with the ContentPane in a position that suits your layout. DNN has always used the ContentPane as the default position of modules and for the placement of admin/host/edit modules so moving these on a page by page level, even if it is possible, would be quite a lot of work. Skin designers (including myself) used to create portal and admin skins, where the admin skins generally had a ContentPane centered within the design that would expand to fit admin content (achieved with a table layout). Because div based layouts don't work exactly the same, this seems to have been replaced with one 100% wide div which doesn't always suit the layout of websites.

As Mitchel Sellers has pointed out; there are some pages you can customise, but not all, so maybe a customised Admin skin would be the best route.

Hope this helps,

Rick.

Rick & Mitchell,
Thank you both for your replies.  I ended up manually applying the 'admin template'  (1 wide content pain) to a lot of the pages.
But I appreciate both of your suggestions and will use them in future.

Thanks again

Tony
