As the impending 5.5 release is coming...
Is there anything addressing the numerous JS and CSS files and lack of SEO guidelines. I think the community is really crying out for a major release to address the performance and new google guidleines. Does anyone know if anything is in the works. I have gone through the release changes can't see anything. Or am I missing something.

What type of SEO guidelines are you looking for? There are several blog around that talk about this and personally I don't feel it is something the core can ever completely tackle on its own (I am not saying the core can't have some changes to support some additional SEO optimizations) but I would hardly consider these a top priority. Honestly, the 2 big SEO enhancements that can be done (that I can think of) are available today via third party vendors (a rewriter and a provider or two).

As for the JS and the CSS, some of the js is part of a migration period (we had a client api, webcontrols and then we added telerik and jquery). When we will work on this particular piece, I am not sure but I don't think it is extremely high on the road map. The CSS itself can be slimmed down by the individual person managing the site (if necessary). The User Experience team has been looking into the possibility of updating some CSS stuff though.

Hi Chris
Basically when building a new site, Snapsis PB and the infinity URL rewriter is practically a must. Now that is fine if the project you are doing will pay for these, but with Google especially now looking on performance aspect. DNN really needs to step up to the mark. It's acally not the cost (well it does play a factor) it is the worry when upgrading DNN how these particular modules will cope with the upgrade. Seeing as they are really needed I would hate to see what would happen if one of these companies just decided to stop developing their products.

I really would love to know more about the content localization architecture - for the last 4 years I thought it was going to be implemented like the Apollo modules - but I see it is now using the other method of a page per language. I would like to find out more about it - is there any documentation available?
