I changed the domain name so Google doesn't pick the thread up.
I assure you the domain exists, the emails exist.. I've been using DNN for years and never had this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This errer caused about you didn't have set the SMTP Settings will in your host settings!  The SMTP Server you are using for your DNN instance must be allow relaying!  Use only real email addresses!

Thank you for your reply, but I am using real addresses. I'm even getting emails sent to me.. . like new-user registrations, smtp tests, etc..

This error takes place when trying to register as a new user.. but if I go back to the home page for instance.. and login as the user I just created, that user exists.. it just didn't stay logged in, and it didn't confirm it, yet threw an error instead. I've noticed several people having this problem in the new release.. not sure about a clear answer though yet.

Do you have any other suggestions?

if you register a user, the email FROM the admin to the user might not get sent and caused an error, please check the event viewer in admin menu for details.

Make sure your admin user of the portal have a email address on the same domain as you have on SMTP host settings.  Also check the security of your SMTP server to accept relay emails from the same domain.
